The Landscape of Kushtia

A land shaped by rivers and enriched by fertile alluvial soil

Kushtia District is situated in the Khulna Division of southwestern Bangladesh. It covers an area of 1,621.15 square kilometers and is bordered by the Rajshahi Division to the north, the Indian state of Nadia (West Bengal) to the west, and the districts of Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, and Rajbari to the south and east.

The district lies in the Gangetic delta plain, featuring predominantly flat terrain formed by alluvial deposits. The major rivers — Padma (Ganges), Gorai, and Mathabhanga — have been instrumental in shaping the region's geography, ecology, and agricultural prosperity over centuries.

Kushtia enjoys a tropical monsoon climate with average temperatures ranging from 11.2°C in winter to 37.8°C in summer. Annual rainfall averages around 1,467 millimeters, supporting lush vegetation and extensive agricultural activities.
